For a healthy way to start your day, add the juice of a quarter of a lemon and 1-2 tsps honey to a mug of hot water.
2 cups plain flour, 1 tsp baking powder, quarter tsp salt, 1 and half tsps cinnamon, half tsp cloves or nutmeg, half cup unsalted butter or margarine (softened), quarter cup sugar, quarter cup honey, quarter tsp baking soda dissolved in 1 tbsp brandy, 2 tbsps yoghurt
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and spices. Cream the butter and sugar at high speed until light and fluffy. Add honey, baking soda and yoghurt and mix with a spoon. Gradually add the sifted ingredients and mix lightly, working by hand until a soft and pliable dough is formed. Roll out small pieces of dough into long, finger thick strips and form them into various shapes. Arrange the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in a 350 degrees oven for approximately 15 minutes. Cool and store in a tin.
2 cups strawberries, 2 cups blueberries, 2 cups raspberries, 1 cup honey, half cup water
Bring all ingredients to boil in a heavy saucepan. Puree in a blender, then pour through a strainer into a plastic container with a tight-fitting lid. Freeze, covered, for 2 hours or until slushy, stirring occasionally. Freeze for another 10 hours until firm, stirring once or twice. Scoop into chilled bowls to serve.
